Hello everyone! I’d like to first say that I love making music and if you are reading this, chances are you do too. Now before we get to how to make beats sounding better, let’s first ask ourselves why are we making beats to begin with. There could be a number of reasons including it being just a hobby or maybe you want to make some
extra money by selling beats to some friends. The reason could be that you want to get a placement deal with a major artist. Your reason for making a beat could effect how you want the final result to be. Let’s say that someone wants you to create a beat that doesn’t sound like the norm. Most of the beats that you’ve created sound like the type of beat that you hear on the popular radio stations. Let’s get one thing clear….The main reason why everything sounds alike on the radio is because the major players of the game pay for their music to be on rotation. I won’t elaborate on that subject right now, but my point is people get bored of hearing the same stuff.
Personally, I don’t care for the radio unless it’s an underground station. We all want to get better at our crafts and to go beyond the norm, we first have to get better at our ability to make beats. I’m talking about reaching past the one or two note beats with an 808 and synthetic claps. Let’s start making very sick beats. In other words, beats that sound extremely pleasing to the ear. Other slang terms include ill, nasty, cold, ridiculuous, ect…These are all positive terms if you are not familiar. Some beats are poorly done, others are just okay, and then you have the highest level which I call “SICK”! To reach this level takes drive, patience, and a willingness to learn. Once, this is accomplished, you are on your way to learning how to make beats. I often get many questions on beat making tips ever since I began posting vids on youtube which started just for fun. Now I am realizing that there are so many out there who just want to get better at their craft. My goal for this website is to provide a resource that helps all those in need whether they are just starting or just want to go to the next level. Here’s an example of a video sharing a tip about if you decide to make beats using your keyboard…
